Students from Clare Primary School were given the opportunity during Drug Action Week last term to win some prizes.
They could either enter a poster for the poster competition or enter a quiz competition, conducted by Sergeant Bob Elliot from the South Australian Police, Drug Action team.
The competitions were open to school students from the Clare and Gilbert Valleys, Riverton, Balaklava and other surrounding towns.
Several Clare Primary School students were successful in winning prizes for themselves.
“Well done to the students who took the time to enter the competitions. Furthermore, thank you to Miss Rosenzweig for encouraging the students from her class to enter the competitions and for providing the time for this to occur,” Geoff Cook from Clare Primary School said.
Major prize winners from the competition included: Reception to year 3 poster competition: first prize, Isaac Hooker – who won a donut maker. Year 4 to year 7 poster competition: first prize Ben Cross – who won an iPod shuffle and a wrist band. Year 4 to year 7 quiz competition: first prize, Mitchell Jarvis, dvd player.
